Laurentian native-born, Annie Tassé displayed a propensity for the graphic arts at an extremely young age. Very quickly, armed with her brushes and colour pots, she used painting to open up a treasure trove of creativity.

The attraction of stagecraft, sombre and colourful, led her to study interior design and later design animation, a domain in which she worked for several years. Over the same time frame, she produced many illustrations for manuals for educational games.

Finally in 2001 she decided to dedicate herself entirely to her passion for painting, which was already wrestling with her muse. Since then, she has been an active participant in many symposia and artists collectives. She joined regional artists associations and in 2004, she met Geneviève Jost, a renowned and accomplished artist in the field of pictorial folk art who became an important mentor along Annie’s career path. In 2005, her first solo exhibit was a great success and the Jeannine Blais Gallery in North Hatley commissioned her to produce the 2006 calendar for the Pharm-Essor Group (the Essaim pharmacy chain).

Ever aware of her need to evolve and grow as an artist, she participated in many workshops in order to acquire and perfect new techniques. Her learning curve has brought her to explore her two current styles of creativity: illustration and contemporary art. Joy and freedom permeate Annie’s work and it is evident that she could not really ask for more.
